Stedelijk and Van Gogh Museum Collaboration Wins Museumtijdschrift Exhibition Prize 2025
The double exhibition Anselm Kiefer – Sag mir wo die Blumen sind, a collaboration between the Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum, was voted winner of the Museumtijdschrift Exhibition Prize 2025 by the public. The prize was awarded on October 15 at the Kunsthal Rotterdam. The show placed Kiefer at the center, highlighted his admiration for Vincent van Gogh, and presented works from the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam collection for the first time alongside new and previously unseen work. It ran from March 7 to June 9, 2025, at both institutions.
The Signal
The public vote underscores sustained interest in Kiefer’s large-scale canvases and their presentation across two Amsterdam museums, reinforcing the artist’s position within Dutch institutional programming. The seventh edition of the prize, shortlisted by a jury of museum and media professionals, highlights how collaborative exhibitions can draw broad visitor engagement and shape perceptions of an artist’s legacy relative to historical figures such as Van Gogh.
