Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam Appoints Behrang Mousavi as Head of Collection Management
The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam appointed Behrang Mousavi as Head of Collection Management effective October 1, 2025. The Collection Management department oversees the physical and digital care of approximately 100,000 objects, including conservation, storage, registration and public access.
The Signal
The permanent appointment strengthens continuity in stewardship of one of the Netherlands’ major modern and contemporary holdings. For curators and researchers it signals sustained institutional focus on collection infrastructure and documentation standards. Board and advisory experience at multiple Dutch cultural funds positions Mousavi to align collection policy with broader public access and funding priorities.
