Stedelijk Museum Announces Seventh Post/No/Bills Edition with Kexin Hao's Anatomical Murals

On August 25, 2026, the Stedelijk Museum announced the seventh edition of its Post/No/Bills series, featuring a site-specific installation by artist Kexin Hao titled 'Anatomy of Obstruction'. The installation transforms the corridor surrounding the museum’s historic staircase with hand-drawn murals of oversized internal organs—intestines, lungs, liver, stomach, and kidneys—that serve as metaphors for institutional systems of filtration, regulation, and legitimation. Hao draws on anatomical traditions from 18th-century encyclopedias, Daoist body maps, and government backdrops to question how systems of organization shape power and generate resistance.
The Signal
This edition continues Post/No/Bills' focus on emerging graphic design and spatial interventions within the museum's architecture, following previous contributors such as Hedy Tjin, Hezin O, and Kristyan Sarkis. Hao, a Hague-based visual artist working across performance, video, and design, was appointed Stadstekenaar of The Hague in 2025 and was a resident at the Jan van Eyck Academie.
