Stedelijk Museum Completes Entrance Redevelopment with Launch of Three New Culinary Venues
The Stedelijk Museum is introducing Fonda Bar and Fonda Café along with Café Restaurant Sandberg. The new eateries were developed in collaboration with Amsterdam entrepreneurs from Oficina and the team behind Café Restaurant Metro in partnership with Vermaat. Fonda Bar offers homemade baked goods, coffees and teas in the redesigned entrance area while Fonda Café serves reimagined classics from a semi-open kitchen. Café Restaurant Sandberg will feature a seasonal menu of locally grown produce on Museumplein.
The Signal
The additions complete the redevelopment of the museum's entrance area and reflect an institutional strategy to integrate local culinary talent with the Stedelijk's focus on art and design. By partnering with young entrepreneurs the museum strengthens its position as a community destination that connects visitors and residents. This approach signals an enhanced museum experience that blends cultural programming with everyday hospitality offerings.
