Stedelijk Museum Reappoints Annelies van der Pauw as Chair, Names Wouter Han to Supervisory Board
The Stedelijk Museum has reappointed Annelies van der Pauw as chair of its supervisory board for a second term. Van der Pauw, who began her first term on December 1, 2020, has over thirty years of experience in mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance, including prior roles as chair of the Fonds BKVB and the Supervisory Board of the Mondriaan Fund. The board also welcomed Wouter Han as a new member succeeding Homme ten Have; Han, a partner at CVC Capital Partners, serves on the Supervisory Board of VUmc Cancer Center Amsterdam and chairs the Trustfonds Rijksakademie Amsterdam. The museum has created a new trainee position on the supervisory board, with Shareen Bodha of Skytree beginning a one-year term in September.
The Signal
The leadership changes reinforce governance stability at the Stedelijk Museum while expanding financial expertise on its supervisory board. The trainee program introduces a structured pathway for emerging professionals to engage in institutional decision-making, a model that may influence how other museums in Amsterdam develop supervisory talent.
