Tate Britain to Launch Largest James McNeill Whistler Retrospective in 30 Years
Tate Britain will open a major retrospective of James McNeill Whistler on May 21, 2026, featuring 150 works including paintings, drawings, and printmaking. The exhibition marks the first time in 30 years that a survey of this scale has been staged in Europe and includes the loan of 'Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1' from the Musée d’Orsay. The show is organized in collaboration with the Van Gogh Museum and the Mesdag Collection and will run through September 27, 2026.
