Tate Modern will present "ARTIST ROOMS: Robert Rauschenberg," a large-scale free display featuring over 20 works by the American artist spanning three decades, on September 21, 2026. The exhibition includes paintings, prints, kinetic and light works, with a focus on Rauschenberg's Glut series—sculptures made from scrap metal salvaged from junkyards in response to the 1980s oil surplus. Three newly gifted Gluts from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, including "G-I Glut" (1986) and "Rasputin's Revenge Early Winter Glut" (1987), are central to the show, donated to mark the centenary of the artist's birth for the ARTIST ROOMS collection, jointly owned by Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland. The display also highlights Rauschenberg's engagement with dance and performance, featuring costumes and set elements from collaborations with the Trisha Brown Dance Company.
