On June 3, 2026, Tate Modern unveiled gadzi, an installation by Zimbabwe-born artist nora chipaumire in the museum's East Tank that combines sculpture, sound, and moving image. Drawing on Shona spiritual traditions and Zimbabwean landscapes, the work incorporates a custom-built dub sound system and film elements, with live performances scheduled for June 26, 27, and 28, 2026. The free exhibition runs through August 23, 2026, as the second annual Infinities Commission, a decade-funded program supporting ambitious new projects in the Tanks. The selection panel also awarded £10,000 research grants to collective CATPC, Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme, and Sahej Rahal.
