Award TEFAF

The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) and Bank of America have selected the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) as the 2026 recipient of the TEFAF Museum Restoration Fund. The grant will support the conservation of 'The Meeting of Dante and Virgil', a rare 16th-century Italian tapestry designed by Francesco Salviati and woven in the Medici workshop between 1547 and 1549. Following treatment by the Midwest Art Conservation Center, the 17.4-foot work is scheduled to return to public view on July 11, 2026.
