On September 13, 2026, Thaddaeus Ropac announced that Tehran-born, New York-based painter Ali Banisadr is showing under the title 'Talisman' at two Paris venues: the Musée Gustave Moreau in the 9th arrondissement, where his paintings, pastels, drawings and new bronzes hang alongside works by Gustave Moreau (1826–1898), and the gallery's own space in the 3rd arrondissement. The museum invited Banisadr to participate in the project. The presentation includes large canvases such as Smoke and Mirrors, Terrible Beauty and Residue, as well as sculptures named Cyclops, The Alchemist and Gilgamesh. Banisadr, born in 1976 and based in Brooklyn, drew the title from one of his canvases.
