Victoria and Albert Museum Reappoints Professor Rosalind Polly Blakesley as Trustee
June 16, 2026: The Prime Minister has reappointed Professor Rosalind Polly Blakesley as Trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum for a term of four years. The reappointment runs from September 5, 2026, to September 4, 2030. Professor Blakesley has served as Master of Pembroke College, Cambridge, since October 2025 and as Professor of Russian and European Art at the University of Cambridge since 2018.

She previously held board positions at the National Portrait Gallery, Fitzwilliam Museum, Hamilton Kerr Institute and Kettle’s Yard, and currently serves as a Trustee of the Samuel Courtauld Trust. Her publications on imperial Russian art and the Arts and Crafts Movement, along with her role chairing the V&A Research Committee, directly support the museum’s collection and research priorities. The unpaid appointment complies with the Cabinet Office Governance Code on Public Appointments.
