Anne Keller Dubach has been elected as the new president of the Zürcher Kunstgesellschaft, the supporting association of Kunsthaus Zürich, succeeding Walter B. Kielholz. Kielholz, who had presided over the association for 19 years, stepped down on June 30, 2021. The election took place via written ballot on May 31, 2021, under COVID-19 regulations, with 31% of the 20,522 eligible members voting. Dubach received 4,308 votes (67.7%), while her opponent Dr. Florian Schmidt-Gabain received 1,648 votes (25.9%). The association also approved the 2020 annual report and accounts, increased membership fees from 2022, and awarded Kielholz honorary membership.

The association reported a pandemic-related operating loss of CHF -980,952 in 2020, compared to a profit of CHF 3,899 the previous year, despite visitor numbers dropping to 226,154 from 270,053. Membership grew to 20,816 from 19,688. No COVID-19 loans were taken, and liquidity remains sufficient to secure the opening of the Kunsthaus extension in 2021. The search committee, led by Dubach, is expected to announce the successor to director Christoph Becker, who will leave in April 2023, before summer 2021.
