Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr 'The Art of Luxury' Sale Realizes €53,740 for Hermès Sofa
Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr hosted The Art of Luxury sale in Paris on 26 May 2026. The 200-lot live auction offered Hermès furniture from a private collection along with handbags from Hermès, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. The top result was a Hermès Paris 2-seater Sellier sofa designed by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance that sold for €53,740, double its pre-sale estimate. Additional results included a 2009 Kelly Doll bag for €32,000, a 2016 Kelly clutch for €25,600 and a circa 1930 Louis Vuitton trunk for €12,800.
The Signal
The sale demonstrates sustained collector demand for rare Hermès pieces no longer available through retail channels, with multiple 2024 furniture lots exceeding estimates. Hubert Felbacq noted that Bonhams provides access to sold-out or rediscovered items from specific eras. The live results are followed by an online auction of 300 lots from the same houses, giving buyers additional opportunities to acquire comparable material through the same house.
