Exhibition Lisson Gallery Mar 27, 2026

The Chengdu Art Museum presents the latest edition of the Chengdu Biennale from 8 February to 23 August 2026, featuring works by Daniel Buren, Julian Opie and Yu Hong. Themed ‘Pulse of Life’, the biennale explores living conditions across different times and spaces through the daily realities of contemporary social environments. Yu Hong exhibits her never-before-seen monumental five-panel painting Salvation (2021), Daniel Buren shows the aluminium sculpture Pile Up: High relief n° B5 (2017), and Julian Opie presents a reclining stainless steel figure alongside landscape lightboxes.

The Signal

The presentation at a major Chinese institution marks continued institutional exposure for Lisson Gallery artists in Asia and provides collectors with visibility into Yu Hong’s large-scale figuration ahead of potential market movement. Daniel Buren’s relief work and Julian Opie’s graphic lightboxes demonstrate the gallery’s range across sculpture and installation, aligning with biennale programming that pairs established international names with local contexts.
