David Zwirner Announces Stan Douglas Retrospective at Jeu de Paume, Paris
The Facts
Jeu de Paume in Paris will present the largest retrospective of Stan Douglas in the city in over 30 years, running from October 16, 2026 to January 31, 2027. The exhibition spans works from the 1980s to the present, including installations such as "Hors-champs" (1992) and "The Secret Agent" (2015), photographic series like "Crowds and Riots" (2008) and "Disco Angola" (2012), and the recent video installation "Birth of a Nation" (2025), which reinterprets D.W. Griffith's 1915 film. Curated by Gloria Moure and Marta Ponsa, the show is co-produced with the Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), where it will travel in autumn 2027.
