On July 6, 2026, Dior published details of its Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection, designed by Jonathan Anderson, which takes inspiration from the work of American artist Lynda Benglis. The collection translates Benglis's sculptural techniques—knotting, pleating, and molding—into fabric, with ateliers simulating the surfaces of her works in metallic, iridescent, encrusted, and paper-like materials. Anderson also drew on Benglis's long relationship with Ahmedabad, India, incorporating motifs from her Peacock series and 18th-century chintz textiles. The collection juxtaposes the lush Ahmedabad landscape with the arid climate of Santa Fe, New Mexico, where Benglis maintains a studio.

The Signal

From July 7 to July 12, 2026, Dior presents "Grammar of Forms" at the Musée Rodin in Paris, an exhibition that brings together pieces from the new haute couture collection, archival Dior creations, and artworks by Lynda Benglis, some shown in France for the first time. The collaboration signals a deepening of fashion's engagement with contemporary art, positioning Anderson's approach as a curatorial practice that treats the runway as a site for art historical dialogue. For collectors, the exhibition underscores the growing institutional crossover between luxury fashion and fine art, potentially elevating interest in Benglis's work.
