Born in M'Balmayo, Cameroon, Barthélémy Toguo pursued his artistic education in Abidjan, Grenoble, and Düsseldorf. He gained international recognition for his ability to bridge diverse cultural contexts, establishing a practice that moves fluidly between the visual and performing arts.

His work frequently utilizes a variety of media, including prints, photography, and large-scale installations, to address the complexities of global movement and social displacement. He is also the founder of Bandjoun Station, an art center in Cameroon designed to foster cultural exchange and support local creative development.
