Biography
Damien Steven Hirst is an English artist and art collector. He was one of the Young British Artists (YBAs) who dominated the art scene in the UK during the 1990s.
During the 1990s his career was closely linked with the collector Charles Saatchi, but the relationship ended in 2003.
Recent recognition includes new auction records for his works at Phillips sales in June 2026 and inclusion among nearly 70 artists in the Tate Britain exhibition 'The 90s: Art and Fashion' opening in October 2026.
