Born in France and currently based in Brussels, Laure Prouvost has established a career defined by complex, multi-layered environments. She rose to significant international acclaim in 2013 when she was awarded the Turner Prize, and she later represented France at the 2019 Venice Biennale with her celebrated installation Deep See Blue Surrounding You.
Her practice frequently utilizes video, kinetic sculpture, and olfactory elements to create surreal, narrative-driven experiences. Her work often engages with the fluidity of language and the intersection of nature and technology, frequently incorporating found objects and experimental soundscapes to challenge the viewer's sensory engagement with the space.
Recent recognition includes the creation of a massive site-specific fresco for the BRUSK gallery in Bruges and a forthcoming multisensory exhibition at the Grand Palais in Paris. Her work continues to be featured in major institutional settings, with upcoming solo presentations scheduled in Turin and continued global representation through Lisson Gallery.
