Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Salah Elmur is a multidisciplinary artist who has established a significant international presence as a painter, graphic designer, and filmmaker. He currently lives and works in Cairo, Egypt, where he continues to develop his distinct visual language.

His paintings are characterized by a focus on the human figure, often rendered with flattened perspectives and vibrant, saturated palettes. His work frequently draws upon his background in graphic design and his interest in storytelling, resulting in compositions that feel both intimate and enigmatic.

Elmur’s work has been acquired by major global institutions, including the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, and the Sharjah Art Foundation. His paintings have been exhibited extensively across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and the United States.
