Family of Günther Förg Launches Official Archive and Digital Catalogue Raisonné
The family of artist Günther Förg (1952–2013) has launched the Günther Förg Archive to preserve his work, support academic research and produce a comprehensive catalogue raisonné. Förg’s oeuvre spans painting, sculpture, photography and graphic art. After his death the family organized his estate and began systematic work on the catalogue raisonné in 2018. The archive consolidates this material and will publish verified work data, high-quality illustrations, provenance records and literature references gradually online.
The Signal
The project supplies collectors and curators with an authoritative record of Förg’s output, enabling fresh assessment of his engagement with modern art. Online access to the catalogue raisonné over the coming years will facilitate ongoing scholarship and confirm the artist’s position within postwar German art.
