Fundación ARCO and Museo Universidad de Navarra Sign Curatorial Collaboration
On June 7, 2026, Museo Universidad de Navarra and Fundación ARCO signed a collaboration agreement that allows students in the Master’s Degree in Curatorial Studies to research the ARCO collection of 384 works. The agreement was signed by José Vicente de los Mozos, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Fundación ARCO and President of the Executive Committee of IFEMA MADRID, and Jaime García del Barrio, Director of Museo Universidad de Navarra. Students from the sixth postgraduate course will access the collection during the 2023-24 academic year and visit CA2M in Madrid, where the works are housed, preserved and exhibited. The partnership also includes additional actions to increase visibility of the Fundación ARCO Collection.
The Signal
The agreement supplies hands-on curatorial training by requiring students to research artists, address conservation and transport issues, and develop exhibition proposals for the MUN. It reflects Fundación ARCO’s strategy of extending the reach of its contemporary holdings through academic partnerships rather than limiting activity to the annual fair. For curators and collectors the move underscores sustained institutional support for interpreting the collection’s works by artists including Donald Judd, James Turrell, Ana Mendieta and Daniel Buren.
