LACMA and Genesis Announce Multi-Year Partnership Including New Public Program and Gallery Naming
On November 12, 2025, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art announced a multi-year partnership with Genesis to support innovative programming and audience engagement. The collaboration begins with The Genesis Talks, quarterly conversations starting December 4 with LACMA CEO Michael Govan and artist Jeff Koons. Genesis has committed significant support to the David Geffen Galleries, with one space designated the Genesis Gallery, and will serve as presenting sponsor of the opening gala.
The Signal
The partnership reflects a luxury brand's deepening role in museum infrastructure at a time when institutions seek diversified funding for major capital projects. For curators and collectors, the involvement of figures such as Jeff Koons in public programs may broaden the perceived cultural context for contemporary artists, while the named gallery in the Peter Zumthor-designed building signals sustained visibility for LACMA's permanent collection ahead of its April 2026 opening.
