The Facts

On October 14, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler announced a series of Eddie Martinez projects in the US and Austria. At Boston Seaport, Martinez installed two site-specific commissions, "Seaport Bouquet" (2025) and "Seaport Shuffle" (2025–2026), alongside a temporary exhibition of paintings. His drawings are on view at Albertina Klosterneuburg with Georg Baselitz in a 350-work presentation tied to "Donated with Love"; a public sculpture, "Untitled" (2026), is at Riverfront Park in Newark as part of ARTS14C's The Art of the Game, featuring 23 artists. Work by Martinez also appears in "Super Duper" at the Metropolitan Opera's Gallery Met, and his debut monograph, "Eddie Martinez: 20 Years of Painting," includes essays by Dan Nadel and Ross Simonini.

The Signal

The breadth of venues — public parks, a Boston waterfront, an Austrian museum and the Met Opera — suggests Martinez's practice is being absorbed beyond commercial gallery walls. For collectors, the monograph and the Albertina survey formalize a 20-year narrative that supports demand for his paintings, while large-scale public works expand his audience and institutional profile.
