Galerie Max Hetzler Artists Featured in Berlin, Oslo, Paris and Other European Shows
On June 17, 2026, Galerie Max Hetzler reported that works by Matthew Barney, Katharina Grosse and Thomas Struth are included in A Thousand Times Berlin at Hamburger Bahnhof, marking the museum’s 30th anniversary with over 70 works by more than 50 artists from 1989 to the present. Katharina Grosse will open the solo exhibition Black Bed at MUNCH in Oslo this autumn and creates a site-specific intervention titled Arrels at La Llotja de Palma, jointly organised by the Government of the Balearic Islands and Es Baluard Museu d’Art Contemporani de Palma. Thomas Struth will speak at Jeu de Paume in Paris as part of Le 7 à 9 de Chanel and has been awarded the Soane Honors Award for Photography.
The Signal
The announcements reflect coordinated institutional placements for the gallery’s core artists across photography, painting and installation, strengthening their visibility in public collections and historic venues. Grosse’s projects in Oslo and Palma, alongside Struth’s Vienna and Zurich inclusions, indicate sustained demand for large-scale spatial work and photographic surveys of contemporary society. Barney’s SECONDARY video installation and his election to the American Academy of Arts and Letters further position the roster within both academic and performance-based contexts.
