The Obama Presidential Center in Chicago will feature a permanent site-specific installation by artist Carrie Mae Weems titled 'The Cool Blue Wind' when it opens on June 19, 2026. The work consists of a photographic collage printed on silver and gold metallic paper accompanied by an original jazz soundtrack. The installation is one of over 28 commissioned artworks for the center and references President Obama's 2008 election and the relationship between jazz and democratic participation.
