Hauser & Wirth has announced worldwide representation of Los Angeles-based painter Lucy Bull, working in close collaboration with David Kordansky Gallery. Bull, born in 1990 in New York, creates viscerally hypnotic paintings through automatism and layered mark-making, often using a repurposed blade to carve into surfaces. Her compositions range from extremely horizontal canvases to monumental vertical works, such as '13:13' (2024), a 39-foot-tall commission for ICA Miami. The gallery will present Bull's painting '17:44' (2026) at Art Basel Paris from October 21 to 25, 2026, with her first solo exhibition to follow in June 2027 at Hauser & Wirth's Zurich location on Limmatstrasse.
