Exhibition Hauser & Wirth

Hauser & Wirth Menorca and global video channel NOWNESS will present a Summer Film Festival over five evenings in July and August. The screenings take place in the gallery courtyard on Illa del Rei, with each evening themed: Designing at Home, Artists in Profile, Natural Beauty, Fashion and Motion, and Photographers in Focus. Featured shorts include visits to architect Ricardo Bofill's home and the Eames House, profiles of artists Rashid Johnson and Pipilotti Rist, and portraits of photographers Aïda Muluneh and Martin Parr. The festival coincides with the exhibition 'Directionless,' which explores artmaking in uncertain times. Admission is free, with donations encouraged for local charities; tickets, shuttle boat transfers from Mahon harbor, and dinner reservations are available online.

The Signal

The festival reflects Hauser & Wirth's strategy of using film to deepen audience engagement with its exhibition program and remote island location. By curating from NOWNESS's archive of cultural shorts, the gallery creates a relaxed, cinematic entry point to contemporary art themes—relevant for collectors seeking immersive experiences beyond the white cube. It also reinforces Menorca as a destination for interdisciplinary art programming, building on the gallery's conservation and education initiatives since opening in 2021.
