Kunsthaus Zürich Names Remo Longhi as Head of Operations
Kunsthaus Zürich announced on September 30, 2025, the appointment of Remo Longhi as its new Head of Operations, effective January 2026. Longhi will oversee finance, administration, security and IT, as well as infrastructure and technology, and will join the executive board alongside director Ann Demeester. Since 2018, he has served as Commercial Director and Deputy Director of the Fotomuseum Winterthur, and previously held the role of Co-Director of the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. Kunsthaus Zürich is Switzerland's largest art museum.
The Signal
The appointment signals the museum's emphasis on operational stability and institutional consolidation as it aims to sustain its position as a leading cultural institution. For collectors and industry observers, the choice of a seasoned administrator from another prominent Swiss cultural organization reflects a strategic focus on financial and operational expertise at the executive level. The move is part of a broader trend among major European museums to strengthen back-of-house leadership amid evolving funding and operational challenges.
