The Facts

On October 27, 2026, Kunsthaus Zürich announced an exhibition by Ralph Lemon and Kevin Beasley titled 'Residuum (Tell it anyway)', running from November 20, 2026 to January 3, 2027 in the museum's Müller building. The exhibition transforms the postmodern extension into a resonant space for sound and performance, investigating what remains after a live moment and how history and memory are inscribed in bodies, voices, and sounds. Temporary walls will be removed to reconnect the building with architect Erwin Müller's original vision of the museum as an open, public square. The show includes a multi-channel sound installation and two live performances in December.

The Signal

The exhibition continues a 15-year collaboration between Lemon, a choreographer known for his MoMA PS1 survey in 2024, and Beasley, whose sound and sculpture practice explores material history. By turning the Müller building into an artist's house, the Kunsthaus reconsiders its own architecture as a choreographic space, encouraging visitors to circulate and experience shifting perspectives. This project reflects a broader institutional embrace of performance and sound as archival mediums, positioning the body and voice as carriers of historical memory.
