LACMA to Open Peter Zumthor-Designed David Geffen Galleries on April 19, 2026
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) will open its new David Geffen Galleries on April 19, 2026, featuring an inaugural installation of the permanent collection. Designed by architect Peter Zumthor, the 900-foot-long elevated structure spans Wilshire Boulevard and provides a single-level exhibition space for art across all cultures and eras. The opening display will include works by Hiroshi Sugimoto, Pedro Reyes, and Carmen Herrera.
