Zeitz MOCAA to Host First Major African Survey of Artist Cauleen Smith in November 2025
Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) announced a survey exhibition of Los Angeles-based artist Cauleen Smith titled 'Afflict the Comfortable, Comfort the Afflicted.' Curated by Thato Mogotsi, the exhibition will open on November 20, 2025, and run through October 4, 2026, marking Smith’s first major presentation on the African continent. The installation will feature short films, videos, drawings, and textile banners exploring themes of Black experimental cinema, Afrofuturism, and Black feminism.
