On September 29, 2026, Lisson Gallery announced "EYES FOR YOU", the first major European solo exhibition of Joyce Pensato since her death in 2019, at the Falckenberg Collection, Deichtorhallen Hamburg. The exhibition traces her development over four decades, from early still lifes and Batman drawings of the 1970s to large-scale black-and-white enamel paintings of the 1990s and beyond. Pensato's subversive appropriations of popular culture figures like Mickey, Donald, Batman, and The Simpsons bring popular culture into dialogue with Abstract Expressionist gesture. Her shift from oil to enamel marked a decisive turning point. The Hamburg presentation brings together works from international and European collections and is accompanied by a presentation of works from the Falckenberg Collection. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with ICA Miami and Frac des Pays de la Loire, and runs from October 10, 2026 to April 4, 2027.
