The Facts

On October 12, 2026, Lisson Gallery announced "Lost and Found," a major survey of Susan Hiller's work opening at Zachęta – National Gallery of Art in Warsaw on October 29, 2026. The exhibition, the first institutional survey of Hiller in Poland, spans five galleries and brings together five bodies of work, including "Wild Talents" (1997), "J. Street Project Index" (2003), "Lost and Found" (2016), and "Die Gedanken sind frei" (2011). The presentation opens with Hiller's career-spanning exploration of anonymous British "Rough Seas" postcards, from Addenda to Dedicated to the Unknown Artists (1976) to On the Edge (2015). It is curated by Andrew Price, an independent London-based curator and former studio assistant to Hiller, working alongside Gabriel Coxhead, director of the Estate of Susan Hiller, and is on view October 30, 2026, through January 31, 2027.

The Signal

The survey demonstrates Lisson's sustained investment in Hiller's estate and places her multimedia practice in a European museum context. For collectors, it reinforces the enduring relevance of Hiller's investigations of memory, language, and belief, particularly as institutions reappraise women conceptual artists of her generation. Warsaw's Zachęta, a national gallery, also signals expanding institutional interest in her work beyond the UK and US.
