Louisiana Museum of Modern Art Presents Dedicated Exhibition of Asger Jorn Paintings
The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art presents a selection of Asger Jorn paintings in the high-ceilinged final room of the North Wing. The works on view include Die Gedanken sind frei (1970-1971) and Øjets blikstille (1971), both donated by The Merla Art Foundation. The foundation made its gifts in three installments from 1999 to 2014, building on earlier acquisitions by museum founder Knud W. Jensen. Jorn (1914-1973) was a central figure in Danish 20th-century art and the Cobra movement.
