The Facts
On October 6, 2026, Louisiana Museum of Modern Art announced a new collection exhibition, “Les rêves n’ont pas de titre – Dreams have no title,” curated by director Poul Erik Tøjner. The show features works by more than 60 artists spanning roughly 100 years, organized around four themes: color, narrative, space, and image. Highlights include photographic works by Cindy Sherman, Thomas Struth, Andreas Gursky, and Wolfgang Tillmans, alongside spatial works by Donald Judd and Isa Genzken, and narratives by Louise Bourgeois and Philip Guston. The exhibition is presented in the museum’s East Wing and Column Hall.
The Signal
Tøjner’s selection reframes Louisiana’s permanent collection as a dynamic, evolving entity, moving works around the house to serve as a sounding board for changing exhibitions. The thematic grouping—color, narrative, space, image—encourages cross-period and cross-medium dialogue, from Yves Klein’s monochromes to Yayoi Kusama’s immersive installation, signaling the museum’s emphasis on conceptual juxtaposition over chronological presentation. For collectors and curators, the approach underscores how institutional curation can redefine canonical works by placing them in fresh contexts.
