On September 14, 2026, M+, Asia's global museum of contemporary visual culture in Hong Kong, announced a new commission for its Facade: 'Winds of Hong Kong' (2026) by Turkish-American media artist Refik Anadol. The work uses publicly available wind and environmental data from Hong Kong to create an evolving 'data painting' on one of the world's largest LED screens. It will be shown nightly from October 14, 2026 to January 7, 2027, supported by Presenting Sponsor Julius Baer, a Swiss wealth management group. The commission is the latest in Anadol's 'Winds of . . .' series (2017–ongoing), which treats data as artistic material to reveal relationships between natural phenomena and the built environment.
