Nasher Sculpture Center to Present Robert Rauschenberg Centennial Exhibition in 2026
The Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas will present the exhibition Rauschenberg Sculpture from January 31, 2026 to April 26, 2026. Senior Curator Dr. Catherine Craft organized the show, which surveys the three-dimensional practice of Robert Rauschenberg through works in found materials, references to science and performance, and cross-cultural themes. The exhibition forms part of the centennial of the artist's birth in 1925 and receives support from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. It features Combines alongside later series such as the Japanese Clayworks and the Kabal American Zephyrs.
The Signal
The exhibition highlights Rauschenberg's boundary-crossing methods that continue to shape contemporary practice and may inform collectors on the enduring relevance of his found-object and technology-infused works. Programming developed with the Merce Cunningham Trust and a performance of John Cage's Hymns and Variations will emphasize his ties to dance and music, offering curators and artists context for his collaborative approach.
