Exhibition Matthew Marks Gallery Mar 28, 2026

The Parrish Art Museum and The FLAG Art Foundation present Ellsworth Kelly: Eight Decades, an exhibition of roughly twenty works by Ellsworth Kelly created between the 1940s and the 2010s. The show runs March 8–July 19, 2026, and includes early paintings, plant drawings, photographs made on Long Island, monochromatic canvases, and abstract sculptures. It is organized in collaboration with Jack Shear, President of the Ellsworth Kelly Foundation, and curated by Scout Hutchinson, Jonathan Rider, and Caroline Cassidy.

The Signal

The exhibition launches a new curatorial partnership under which FLAG and the Parrish will mount three shows each year through 2030 in adjoining galleries at the museum. The arrangement extends the organizations’ prior FRESH PAINT series and expands FLAG’s programming beyond its Manhattan spaces, underscoring sustained institutional focus on Kelly’s formal concerns with shape, color, and perception across eight decades of production.
