Gozo Yoshimasu has been named the inaugural recipient of the Serpentine x FLAG Art Foundation Prize. The award provides £200,000 to the artist and includes solo exhibitions at Serpentine North in autumn 2027 and The FLAG Art Foundation in spring 2028. The prize, which will distribute £1 million over a decade, was determined by a jury including Hans Ulrich Obrist and Rirkrit Tiravanija. This marks the first major institutional solo exhibition for the artist in both the United Kingdom and the United States.
