Serpentine Announces Second Annual Reader Publication and Launch Event in London
Serpentine Galleries will launch the second annual issue of the Serpentine Reader, titled Issue 02: I Hope This Finds You Well, on March 9, 2026. The publication collects essays, experimental guides, critiques, fiction and poetry from contributors Stephanie Wambugu, Eliot Haworth, Alex Quicho, Anahid Nersessian, Joycelyn Longdon, Asa Seresin, David Lisbon and Ebun Sodipo, with motivational stickers by Alake Schilling. It launches with a special event featuring readings at The Magazine, Serpentine North, at 6pm. The issue follows Issue 01: Circulation and examines the phrase “I hope this finds you well” in the context of commodified care and collective crisis.
The Signal
The launch signals Serpentine’s continued investment in long-form literary publishing as a complement to its exhibition program, offering collectors and curators a slower, text-based entry point into the institution’s thinking. By convening established and emerging writers around themes of wellness, survival and collective conditions, the Reader positions the museum as a site for critical reflection rather than only visual display. For working artists and writers, the annual format and open registration model indicate an accessible platform for experimental prose that may influence how institutions support hybrid practices.
