Serpentine Names LANZA atelier to Design 25th Anniversary Pavilion in London
Serpentine Galleries has selected Mexico City-based LANZA atelier, founded by Isabel Abascal and Alessandro Arienzo, to design the 2026 Pavilion at Serpentine South. Titled a serpentine, the structure will open to the public on June 6, 2026. Goldman Sachs is supporting the annual project for the 12th consecutive year as the Pavilion reaches its 25th edition, which includes a special partnership with the Zaha Hadid Foundation.
The Signal
The appointment continues Serpentine's focus on emerging studios whose work emphasizes everyday conditions, craft, and collective experience. For collectors and curators, the 25th edition reinforces the Pavilion's status as a recurring platform for testing interdisciplinary public projects that shape institutional programming and audience engagement.
