The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is presenting a tribute exhibition to Dutch artist Wim T. Schippers, who died recently, featuring his final work 'Wim is gone 1942-2026 (unfinished)'. The mixed-media piece, which incorporates a paintbrush, sand, bottlecaps, shells, and the artist's footprints, is being donated to the museum at his request. The exhibition runs from July 2 to July 19, 2026, in the ABN AMRO gallery, and includes other works from the museum's collection of 65 pieces by Schippers, as well as a condolence book. Schippers, a key figure in the Dutch Fluxus movement, had his first museum acquisition in 1959 when Stedelijk director Willem Sandberg purchased his drawings, prompting his departure from the Rietveld Academy.
