Tate Britain Extends Opening Hours as Lee Miller Retrospective Becomes Museum's Most Popular Photography Show
Tate Britain has extended weekend opening hours until 10pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for its Lee Miller and Turner & Constable exhibitions for the next three weeks. Lee Miller has attracted over 200,000 visitors, making it the most popular photography exhibition at any Tate gallery, while Turner & Constable has drawn over 100,000 visitors less than halfway through its run. The gallery has recorded over 620,000 visitors since September, its busiest autumn-winter season in over a decade.
The Signal
The record attendance underscores sustained public interest in major photography and historic British landscape shows at Tate Britain. Extended hours and a Lee Miller-themed Late at Tate Britain event on 13 February allow broader access during peak demand. The season also includes new national collection acquisitions by William Dobson and Bridget Riley alongside displays of works by Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, Prunella Clough, Tony Ray-Jones, Mona Hatoum, P. Staff and Onyeka Igwe.
