Tate Britain will present Vanessa Bell & Duncan Grant: Inside Bloomsbury, the first major exhibition to examine the five-decade creative partnership of the two artists. The show, featuring over 300 works from early post-impressionist paintings to late naturalistic landscapes and self-portraits, opens November 12, 2026 and runs through April 11, 2027. It will include furniture, ceramics, textiles, and a full-scale restaging of the artists' Charleston studio, relocated to the museum during conservation work. The exhibition is curated by Thomas Kennedy and Eliza Spindel and is organized in collaboration with Charleston.

The Signal

The presentation underscores Bell and Grant's central role in disseminating modernist ideas through the Omega Workshops and their shared commissions, including the Famous Women Dinner Service. For collectors and curators it offers rare access to Grant's previously hidden erotic male nudes and demonstrates how the pair translated a single visual language across fine and decorative art. The scale of the loan and the studio reconstruction signal sustained institutional interest in Bloomsbury-era British modernism and its cross-medium legacy.
