Thaddaeus Ropac to Host Christian Louboutin Exhibition Curated by Olivier Gabet
Christian Louboutin’s L’Exhibition[niste], chapter II, redesigned by curator Olivier Gabet, Director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, will offer a new perspective after the 2020 exhibition at Palais de la Porte Dorée in Paris. The show features exclusive collaborations including stained glass by Maison du Vitrail, a silver Sevillian palanquin, and a cabaret sculpted in Bhutan. Visitors can also see the designer's projects with artists such as Imran Qureshi.
The Signal
The redesign signals Louboutin’s expanding engagement with institutional curators and cross-disciplinary commissions that blend design objects with fine art. Gabet’s involvement from the Musée des Arts Décoratifs highlights the institutional recognition of Louboutin’s output as collectible cultural production. The emphasis on unique collaborations with artists like Qureshi provides collectors with insight into the designer’s evolving network and the potential long-term value of these limited-edition works.
