Tom Sachs has opened an installation at 245 Centre Street in Lower Manhattan featuring over a dozen plywood suits inspired by Chanel designs, including pieces named for Anna Wintour and Marge Simpson. The suits, made from three-quarter-inch plywood, are displayed in a faux storefront that mimics a Chanel boutique with the address 31 Rue Cambon painted on the door. Sachs said he wanted a Chanel suit but could not wear one, so he created his own versions in his favored material. Additional suits inspired by ASAP Rocky and G-Dragon were still in progress in his atelier.
