On September 3, 2026, White Cube announced that MUNCH in Oslo will present 'Katharina Grosse: Black Bed' from September 26, 2026 to January 3, 2027. The exhibition takes its title from a newly produced site-related painting that reimagines Grosse's Das Bett (2004), in which she spray-painted her entire bedroom in Dusseldorf, destroying her belongings. Grosse has long cited Edvard Munch as an influence, particularly his painting The Sun (1910–11), and she created new works in Munch's studio ahead of the show. The presentation extends a dialogue between the two artists' emotional and psychological concerns.
