Zeitz MOCAA Partners With M&C Saatchi Abel to Launch Instagram-Based Digital Navigation Tool
Zeitz MOCAA has launched the world’s first museum Insta Map in partnership with advertising agency M&C Saatchi Abel. The dynamic map guides visitors through the museum’s seven floors and over 60 galleries using Instagram. Visitors scan a QR code or visit the dedicated Instagram page for an overview of floors, key artworks and facilities including restrooms. The tool also offers a 2-hour Insta tour and a guide to the most Instagrammable spots.
The Signal
The project enables the museum to reach new and existing audiences through a familiar platform while educating visitors on contemporary art from Africa and its diaspora. For curators and collectors it demonstrates how institutions are integrating social media into physical navigation to broaden access and engagement without requiring prior art knowledge.
