ARCO Madrid Opens Call for Guest Lounge Design, Offers €1,500 Grants
On July 2, 2026, ARCO Madrid announced a new call for architects, designers, and creative professionals to design the GUEST Lounge for the 2027 edition of the fair, which will take place from March 3–7, 2027, at IFEMA MADRID. The lounge is a signature meeting point for art, design, and innovation, welcoming national and international guests, collectors, and industry professionals. Applications must be submitted by September 7, 2026, after which a panel of judges will select three finalists, each receiving a €1,500 grant to develop their proposals. The winner will be announced, with the project built for the fair.
The Signal
The GUEST Lounge competition is a strategic tool for ARCO Madrid to elevate the fair's identity by integrating contemporary design into the art-world experience. The involvement of AD España as editorial partner and the precedent of studios like mesura and Estudio Burr signals that the chosen design will have high visibility and potential to influence trends in fair architecture. For designers, winning this commission offers a rare platform within a major international art market event, positioning their work before top collectors and institutions.
